The Palace in West Virginia. Says the Pittsburgh Press, “The West Virginia panhandle’s farm-checkered, wooded vistas give way before a shimmer of the Orient: gold mirrors and gold leaf ornament , silver filigree, and stained glass and marble of many colors. An estimated 200 tons of marble were used in the structure. About 50 kinds o f marble were imported from all over the world. The stone was cut, polished, and pieced together in intricate floral and geometric designs in the Krishna workshop .. . .”
