Festivals of India Come West

In addition to the traveling festival, the temples of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness sponsor such traditional cultural events as Janmastami, the annual celebration of Lord Krsna's appearance-day anniversary, shown above at Bhaktivedanta Manor, where thousands of Londoners watch a performance by an Indian dance company. The festival culminates in a midnight worship ceremony and a feast of prasadam, vegetarian food offered to Lord Krsna.
